This group of activities helps children explore numbers 11-99. They introduce the concept of teens (ten and some more) and tens (with the suffix -ty meaning more than one ten). As with the other math lessons, we first introduce the child to the quantity alone, and then the numeric symbol alone. We then give the child lots of activities to help them put the quantities and symbols together to help strengthen the association. The children are given lots of opportunities for counting with teens and tens as they practice linear counting (1,2,3) and skip counting (5, 10, 15) using the bead chains.
